comments

Mionetto Prosecco Organic D.o.c Treviso is made with certified organically-grown grapes (Bioagricert Srl. Mionetto). In the vineyard, the grapes are grown without synthetic chemicals and fertilizers. In the cellar, the wine is vinified separately to ensure purity. To reduce the carbon footprint of this wine even further we use recycled materials for the bottle, label and shipper. This delightful Prosecco is bright yellow in color. Its perfume of delicate elderflowers leads to an explosion of golden apples on the palate. Straw-colored wine with brilliant reflections. The aroma is fruity, reminiscent of pear and citrus with a slightly floral bouquet. The wine is fresh and crisp with apparent apple and peach flavors. This gentle-sparkling wine epitomizes the traditional wine maker’s Prosecco, fermented in the Charmat method to maintain the fresh fruity quality of the Prosecco grape.

The Prosecco grape originated during Roman times and is one of the oldest grapes in Italian history. Its origin and name can be traced back to the town of Prosecco in Trieste. Prosecco grapes are transformed into sparkling wine using the Charmat method in which stainless steel tanks and yeast are utilized to produce a natural second fermentation. The process takes approximately 60 days depending on acidity, residual sugar and pressure. The Charmat method allows Prosecco to preserve its original flavors and perfumes longer. Prosecco is traditionally a dry wine with hints of apple and citrus.

food pairing - Mionetto Prosecco Organic is the perfect accompaniment for seafood risotto, mussels and fish. It is also delicious as an aperitif.

Cerasuolo Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Rosato Vigne Nuove, Valle Reale is a heavy coloured Italian rose wine keeping the great acidity and aromas from the Montepulciano grapes. The aromas and taste of this wine are gorgeous wild cherries both on the nose and palate – enjoy this medium-dry rose wine!

serve chilled

3) bubo cabernet sauvignon

grape - cabernet sauvignon

vineyard

notes

Bubo Cabernet Sauvignon is a crowd-pleasing Cabernet at a wise price … “bubo” is Latin for owl, after all!

Flavor: plums, black cherry, black currant
Palate: medium- to full-bodied, smooth finish
Other pairings include: Grilled Vegetable Pizza, lasagna and Grafton Classic Reserve Cheddar Aged 2 Years, a Vermont cheddar with a lingering acidic finish that brings out hints of black currant in the wine.

serve at cellar temperature

hope to see you at the next tasting session on 26june.
